ABC - performance concept: Precision manufacturing & complete delivery
Since 2003: In the service of optimal braking power
The best braking power is a matter of detail. When you are performing at the limit, what counts are the maximum quality, highest degree of reliability, and precision without compromise. The ABC concept applies these principles to all production areas: mechanical interface, mechanical processing, disc mounting, and embedding brake discs and brake pads.
Our company, ABC GmbH, was founded in Buchenau (Thuringia) in 2003 with two employees.
The founders had the idea of using a “stud”. These studs have the task of holding the friction coating for the brake pads on the pad backing plate under extreme driving conditions.
"ABC GmbH is certified in all three divisions according to DIN ISO 9001."
The first brake lining was manufactured by hand with a brass stud at the old Buchenau location. Increased demand soon meant that manually fulfilling orders was no longer possible. This led to the internal development and commissioning of the first special machine.
In 2003, production switched from manual work stations to automated welding. An independent business then opened at a new site location in Eisenach OT Neukirchen. In the following year, the machine and personnel capacities at ABC GmbH were successively increased to meet the planned development in orders. Today, ABC GmbH employs about 30 people.
Components for well-conceived braking technology
Due to the continuously increasing order volume, a new production hall was built in 2004 and a new logistics hall was built in 2019. Since our customers’ requirements continued to grow since 2004, and continue to grow, continuous expansion of production and storage areas is essential.
Thus, in addition to the mechanical integration (stud welding), three additional processes have been integrated into the production processes: bedding in of brake pads and disks, mechanical processing, and disc mounting. In 2012, two bedding in machines were commissioned for the professional embedding of brake pads and brake discs.
Two more machines are now planned for this area. In 2013, production was supplemented with the implementation of CNC milling machines to meet specific customer requirements. In 2016, the disc mounting department was founded. The sport division today effectively covers all racing sport and high-performance applications (such as Porsche, Aston Martin, Audi RS, etc.).
